Does anyone have a picture of one? Do they work? What's the cost of building one?

Greengo did a full tech write-up with pix. Don't see it in the tech section anymore though. Try searching on www.pirate4x4.com , there are several writeups there that have weathered time/hacks/pruning a little better than here. ;)

I'll try to post up a pic as soon as I can but the best thing to use is hitch reciever material 2x2 1/4 thick, they are as strong as your welds, cheap to make, and have a ton of travel, on the bad side of things they will vibe like a thunderstick 2000 I will replace my rear with a real shaft when my funds catch back up. Make sure if you make one the u-joint ears are in parallel and you use high clearence ends or you'll have to grind them.

here's one I could find now but I'll still work on a better tech shot when I get the chance.
