Our last club run on FBX creek needs to be before 1 November. This is the date loosely agreed upon as the drop dead date for running it in our rigs so the snow machiner guys get their chance to run it without all of the rutted snow that gives their machines difficulty.
We will resume trail rides on FBX creek on 1 May 07. The reason this date was decided on is for the last 3 years since I have been here the snow on that trail has been too deep well into April and truthfully usually isnt passable by rigs until around the 2nd week in May.

Are you setting up atrail ride, or just reminding us? Nov 1 is a Wednesday. The last weekend in Oct is 28/29.

I have to say I wish we could push the end date out until after thanksgiving again. Last year was a good time even if I did snap a axle shaft.

Some informative discussion as well. Since we took the time and spent the money to build the groomer, I think these dates should be suspended, with notice to the snowmachiners, if it proves its worth as a decent groomer. If the use of the groomer throughout the winter pleases the snowmachiners, these dates can, and should, be removed altogether. Otherwise, what was the point of building the thing in the first place?

If FCT doesn't open back up in the winter time the groomer build that the club paid for still will not go to waste. There have been other trails that it has been used on and have heard nothing but good reviews about it. I feel that FCT will open back up between the clubs but if it doesn't there are plenty other trails that the groomer can still be used on in the winter time.

My thoughts on the matter are that if the snowmachiners still don't "allow" us to use the ROAD now that we've taken steps to make their time as enjoyable as ours, they're merely being selfish, and since they show us no consideration, we should return the favor. Keep grooming the trail, of course, as it will give us an arguing point that they would be hard-pressed to counter.

This situation is hypothetical...if the last snow run on the trail was any indication, the snowmachiners are opening up to 4x4's on the trail even when they're out there.

The only thing I see that could be the downfall to these ideas - is that when the trail is hard packed (like FCT will be after they groom it with their groomer) ours groomer didn't do a great job of filling in all the tire ruts. Now, we have some plans to change it's design, so we shall see. I think that we should invite the pres of their club (as Ole has already done) to come check it out with us on a ride.

Bravo sirs! I am excited to hear of cooperation with the FST's. Also let me remind the consensus that it was not the FST's who were hostile towards AO. It was a few select individuals who did not know how to properly approach the situation.
