View Full Version : Rubicon Locker Bypass

I've read there is a way to bypass the TruLok system to allow engaging lockers in 4H, and to get past the 10mph limit on them. Anyone know how to do this? I found where you can install new switches to control them independently, but would not like to do this unless I must.

Here are a couple of write ups on how to do it.

I'll probably try to install that this week soon as I get my toyota fixed up. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Just got finished wiring it up, works great. Decided to go with the same way that Highboy76 done his and use the stock switch instead of installing new switches and cutting up my dash. Easy mod, took about 15 to 20 minutes. Thanks to all for the info.

glad it worked out that way, now you can save that space and cut it up later

I knew there must be a way. Thanks. ...but what did you and Highboy76 do to use the stock switch, though? I must have missed something. Is it in another thread? ???

You dont have to do anything to the switch. You just have to jumper the ground wire to a wire for the rear and the front lockers.

The new JP magazine has a how-to, real quick section in the "common questions" article. Says to ground the red/white stripe wire behind the switch, or if it's 2005 or newer, the violet/orange stripe.

You can also use a paper clip for the jumper. That way you can "unmodify" it should you need to. Alot on the subject @ www.rubiconownersforum.com
