Gabe has an electric fan on his blazer. A few ppl that were on manchu may remember that it didn't work. Well Rob helped us out and got it working via a switch after the run. I went and picked it up to day from Gabe's barracks and drove it to my house. When I got here hte fan was running (yes) but it is blowing out. Is it possible to have the polarity switched around with the wires causing this? Or did the moron who put this thing in put it in backwards? It's not over heating at all. Just kind of annoying knowing that it is wrong. I'm not taking the fan off right now as long as the engine doesn't get too hot.

Not too familiar with wiring in 12V systems, but that sounds like it could be a polarity issue. I know on a 220V, Three Phase set up you can get reversed circuits causing equipment to run backwards.

Can you install those things backwards? haha... havent installed one of those in about 8 years or so, and that was on an Eclipse...

swap the wires and find out, it might not be an issue now but with a 4.0 it will be this summer

I'm going to try that one day this weekend. I figure when it gets hot outside it will be a problem. Oh by the way it's a built 350. I don't really see a way the fan could be backwards unless the blade portion was assembled in the housing backwards. thanks for the info guys.

not knowing exactly what type of fan/motor you have, I can't be 100% sure. But polarity should not be an issue. All you are doing is completing a simple 12VDC circuit. The three phase mentioned earlier dealt with phase rotation.

Do you have the correct size fuse for the fan? Is it pulling much more than rated amperage? ie is the motor going ++++ up?

swap the wires, it will be fine after wards *thumbs up*
