Hi guys well while my 85 yota is waiting parts to arrive 7-10 working days ..

I started working on my desiel buggy build .. drive train from factory was 6 cyl nissan sd33 n/a desiel motor hooked to the sm 465 4 spd with low granny 1st , dana 20 and dana 44's front and rear with rear power lock ..

well i got the truck as a total rust bucket and a ford nine in the rear with cut off leave springs shoved in the fender wells just to make it a roller ..

so i started cutting and down to just the A pillar and center tranny tunnel and stock frame ..

i lost alot of weight and un needed girth ..

next i cut out all the bad rust and kept what i could save on the fire wall .. floors will be made later like what i did on my 67 scout ..

i found a nasty crack that was terribly repaiered around the pass side leave spring mount .. i later patched ..

http://www.arcticoffroad.com/forum/gallery/files/3/7/0/desiel_scout003.jpgi cut out all the body panels off the rear ..they were toast .. and started getting the chassis ready to be welded on .. my slider design also will double as my seat mounts up front and a place for the roll cage to mount to .. its still going to be a scout from the A-pillar foward http://www.arcticoffroad.com/forum/gallery/files/3/7/0/scout_buggy_build001.jpg

all but the center trans /t-case hump is gone now tomarrow i will figure out how to support and retain the center trans tunnel i have a few ideas ..

i never seen a rig body so bad ,, most of the scouts frame was solid although alot of surface rust ..it did not take long to get to weldable steel with a 60 grit flapper wheel ..
