1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport
135,ooo miles on a 4.0 with an AT
Clean title
Runs and drives, 4x4 seems to work
Pretty bad oil leak, and doesn't run awesome. Probably needs a tune up.
Body in decent shape, but it has a couple little dings.

Price $600

Well, should I do it? I looked up the book on it, and the price is lower then the rough trade in number on NADA. It has electric windows and stuff, and they all seemed to work. The fan cut in and out intermittently. I didn't see anything that would lead me to believe that it's had body work done on it. I think it has a Chrysler 8.25 rear end in it. The only thing that would probably be a pita was the oil leak seems to be pretty big on it.

I might pull the trigger on this thing tomorrow. Do you think I should?

Children are awesome so this news is great. However, it was not planned at all and now we are faced with some vehicle issue's. The biggest thing is that the FJ is our family rig, and all of a sudden we don't fit in it. Now I could keep it, and make our 6 seater chevy 3/4 ton the "family rig", but I've always let my wife have the newer vehicle so I don't think this will be an option. Our chevy is an '88, and it is basically just my work truck. What will probably happen is the FJ will get traded in for a newer truck that seats 6, and is capable of pulling our 5th wheel camper. Then I'll sell the old truck and buy something cheaper to wheel in/ drive to work.

So.............................
What do you guys think would be a good budget rig? I'd like to be able to haul a couple kids with me, and it needs to be at least sort of reliable as a daily driver. I'll be keeping my winch and roof top tent to use on the new rig as well. So far I'm leaning towards an XJ or a full size land cruiser, but I've got 9 months to figure it out so I'd like to do some brainstorming with you guys.

Let me know what you think. All ideas are going to be considered, and all input, even if it is silly, will be considered helpful. Thanks

Jeremiah
