    ARB compressor in town?

is there a place in town that would carry an ARB air compressor?

If not, is there a place I could find something that would work efficiently like the ARB air compressor pump? I would also like it to also have the capability to air up my tires after hitting the trail .

ARB's compressors work ok for airing up tires but I would hardly say they are efficient. Have you thought about turning your ac compressor into a system to run your ARB and airing up tires. you could also just bolt an air tank tucked up inside the frame of your truck and run a regulator for your locker. I use a arb for my locker but I have also used an ac compressor converted to run the lockers. The ac worked and was more efficient for running air tools and airing up tires. I also have an oasis compressor. After looking at it I don't see why you couldn't build one for fairly cheap. One more alternative might be to find a place that sells used parts for semi-trucks. The system they use for running thier air brakes, horns etc. are compact enough to tuck under the bed of your truck or possibly under the hood. I am not familiar enough with a gas engine in your truck so I don't know how much room you have to work with.

Friday/saturday is coming soon. i shall have the arb in by friday night hopefully. Im a bit lost on how to go about running it off the a/c compressor but i like the idea because it sounds like a cheap and efficient way to go. but im concerned about it causing "unknown" problems. The ARB compressors range about 3oo. im thinking thats a bit much for a compressor.
ill try to find a thread on this shortcut

What about something like this ?
    http://www.amazon.com/Viair-32533-32.../dp/B000FQ1YBS

Has anyone heard of it? its half the price of an ARB compressor. I was thinking about mounting something like this inside the tool box in my dodge, or if I can find room under the hood. I think it would be better to keep it tucked away in the tool box.

Grainger has some pretty decent prices too. I think I might order through them and use an older air compressor 3 gallon storage tank.
Off the tank I will run a hose to the ARB locker with a regulator in the line that matches the specifications for it. There will also be an air hose on a sprung reel for airing up!
this is going to be an easy and fun build!

viar, oasis, etc. They will all work for your ARB. You will probably have a better duty cycle with the alternatives which is important if you want to air up tires. If you don't go with an ARB you will just have to buy a regulator of some sort. They are pretty cheap and easy to come by. If you go with something other than an ARB you should get a 2.5 or bigger tank to hold the air.

Turning your ac into a compressor isn't hard but you will lose your ac. You also need to get a tool oiler soyou don't burn it up and the wiring and fittings. Any source of air will work. Don't just use any regulator. Use a solenoid from arb and wire it in so you know it is right. They only use about 7psi to operate. More than that and you take a good chance of messing things up. I have a buddy who wheels half a year on a 5gallon tank filled once and he wheels about 2-3 times a month. They don't take much air.

You can run an arb off a CO2 cylinder for a paintball gun as well, its easy to hook up.
