of so many people
are covered in stupid
and all they wanna do is get in
I know that your parents
are brother and sister
its idiot season
so let the hunting begin'

Stay in touch with my insanity
Really is the only way
It's a jungle out there kiddies
Have a very fruitful day

packing my bags
hitting the road
don't have time
to do another show
paid my pennance
done my time
time to get on down the line

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go, I'm standing here outside your door,
I hate to wake you up to say good-bye. But the dawn is breaking, it's early morn,
The taxi's waiting He's blowing his horn.
Already I'm so lonesome I could die.
So kiss me and smile for me, tell me that you'll wait for me, hold me like you'll never let me go.

Nothing personal about that last line. Nothing for anyone reading this. I just like the way that part is sang.

this is the tale of sevenfold
seven fools who sold their soul
to be successful, that was the goal
fearing not the demon's hold
fearless they danced through worlds of strife
could not the reaper take their life
for they bargained with the crooked deal
of whom their souls he would someday steal
the risk, they thought is worth the gain
pay forward, they thought, the indebit' pain
success they had at life's game
fame and fortune, a sought after name
the seven, there were bold and brash
the seven, they were of gold and cash
till something found they could not control
they could not possess
they could not hold
could not tame
could not delay
it was out of control
to their dismay
nor could it be captured
nor could it be missed
of things they owned
twas not on the list
Be it not texture, or taste or size
yet twas the tool of their demise
could not be seen
could not be stopped
realized doom, their hearts dropped
the deal once sealed
they tried to deny
to turn away
from the dealers eye
but the stone was cast
the glass hath broken
the seven's word were
now respoken
by the piper collecting
his just due
the seven were now
his unholy crew
their goods and riches
burned away
they could not buy out
they could not pay
into the depths of the hole
where they fell
kicking and screaming
they entered thier hell.
The tale told speaks a caution
to those who would seek
the successes of this world
these treasures I speak
be wary, I say, as not all is well
what seems like heaven may lead straight to hell

I tapped that out in about 10 minutes while waiting for CE to show up and work on our building. Sounds old English.

The answer to the riddle is...

Quote:
[I]Ticking away
the moments that
make up the dull day...

Isn't that Dog Day, not Dull?

I'm rusty. I'd have to google it.

Someone's hung up on the Pink latetly.

There's no time to kill between the cradle and the grave
Father time still takes a toll on every minute that you save
Legal tender's never gonna change the number on your days
The highest cost of livin's dyin', that's one everybody pays
So have it spent before you get the bill

There's no time to kill

Listen now to my sordid tale
My words they speak to you
They testify
You can’t deny
You see it’s oh so true
I dwell in thoughts
Of the universe
What’s immortality ?
It’s said to be
The lies they breed
The pages start to bleed
How can this be ?

Let go of my world
Let it go...

Touch my soul
With subliminal sin
Deceptions they induce
Ingest the lies
Dissect the mind
You can’t control the youth
Enslave the free
With conformity
Oppression takes it’s toll
Hey little man
Who are you
To try to take control
Of my soul...

Let go of my world
Let me go...

Bleed me dry
Read between the lies
Filter out the truth
Pick at my brain
Brand me insane
I know what I must do
Take my life into my own hands
My sins I will atone
If I don’t try
I will reside
Inside a mental home
Home sweet home...

Let go of my world
Let it go...

Anonymous existence, rendered useless to mankind
Destroy the logic volume in the confines of the mind
Enmassed and purposeless, marching in a perfect line
Neo-neuro torture, mental meltdown, a heinous crime

Mastermind, I tell you what to think
I tell you what you need
I tell you what to feel

Invade the core of souls to wipe the lives away
Design vacant beings, welcome the inhuman race
Encrypted horror codes, directive psyche overwrite
Processing brains to pabulum, delete and format living drives

I tell you what's real

Hail to the power age, lest the viral hour comes
Raise the flag of voltage, bow to circuitry unknown
Kneel before the processor, lords of static laugh
Electrons in submission, you must know who I am

pissed off
screw u
flippn' you off
while I'm out the door
don't ask why
just be glad
i didnt put you
on the floor
I/m out
dueces to ya
you looked around
but I flew right
thru ya
seems funny
every time
I put u down
you didnt get the message
thought I
was screwin 'round
no interest
in challenging me
hide in the dark
and bitch
while ya think I donna' see
courage you lack
nothing you gain
confused by the facts
but still I remain
illuminate to you
the sights
you dont wanna see
tell your silly stories
as real as can be
but honesty illudes you
seems you never get fit
hell, I ****ing hope
you don't sleep
well cause
this ****
you'll wait till I leave
then try to talk
but fear my return
fear each step that I walk....

The selfish, they're all standing in line
Faithing and hoping to buy themselves time
Me, I figure as each breath goes by
I only own my mind
I know I was born and I know that I'll die
The in between is mine
And the feeling, it gets left behind
All the innocence lost at one time
Significance, between the lines
There's no need to hide
We're safe tonight

There's another world inside of me
That you may never see
There're secrets in this life
That I can't hide
Somewhere in this darkness
There's a light that I can't find
Maybe it's too far away...
Or maybe I'm just blind...

So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
Hold me when I'm scared
And love me when I'm gone
Everything I am
And everything in me
Wants to be the one
You wanted me to be
I'll never let you down
Even if I could
I'd give up everything
If only for your good
So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
You can hold me when I'm scared
You won't always be there
So love me when I'm gone

Well, oh what a feeling
that burns down low
when you ain't got no where to turn,
or no where to go
It makes me feel like sometimes
I'm outta control
So I'm gonna get wasted
with all my country heroes

I'm drinkin' some George Jones,
and a little bit of Coe
Haggard's easin' my misery
and Waylon's keepin' me from home
Hank's givin' me those high times
Cash is gonna sing it low
I'm here gettin' wasted
here with my country heroes

I'm drinkin' that whiskey
out of that glass
and if that ain't country,
boy, you can kiss my ***
I wanna hear them old songs
nothin' of the new
'cause this might be the last time
I'm gonna see you

So I'm drinkin' some George Jones,
and a little bit of Coe
Haggard's easin' my misery
and Waylon's keepin' me from home
Hanks givin' me those high times
Cash is gonna sing it low
and I'm here gettin' wasted
just like my country heroes

I'm here gettin' wasted
with all my country heroes

Welcome to the jungle
We got fun 'n' games
We got everything you want
Honey we know the names
We are the people that can find
Whatever you may need
If you got the money honey
We got your disease

My Girl America’s crying when she’s lying on her bed at night
And I can see that she’s screaming when she’s dreaming for her freedom
My Girl America’s dying while she’s trying just to stop this fight
Don’t stop believing, my girl America.

Saw that gap again today
while you were begging me to stay
take care not to make me enter
if I do we both may disappear.
But you're pushing and shoving me

Pushing and shoving me...

In the middle of late last night I was sittin' on a curb
I didn't know what about but I was feeling quite disturbed
A street sweeper came whistlin' by
He was bouncin' every step
It seemed strange how good he felt
So I asked him while he swept

He said "It's my job to be cleaning up this mess
And that's enough reason to go for me
It's my job to be better than the rest
And that makes the day for me"
